"For Him (Jesus) to give you a thorn in the flesh, break your hip, make you sick...to free your hands from the myth of control and show you how dependent you are on Him is one of the most merciful things that He can do." -Matt Chandler
What do you think? Agree? Disagree? Have you seen it in your own life? Let us know what makes you go HMMM about it!
This is our story-our story of walking out our faith journey. Our story of the whys, the processes, the transitions, the questions, the feelings, the joys, the triumphants, the frustrations. This is the true, honest, not always pretty record of our journey.
“THE PROCESS IS THE END. FOR IT IS THE PROCESS THAT IS GLORIFYING TO GOD.” --Oswald Chambers
"This life therefore, is not godliness but the process of becoming godly, not health but getting well, not being but becoming, not rest but exercise. We are not now what we shall be, but we are on the way. The process is not yet finished, but it is actively going on. This is not the goal, but it is the right road. At present, everything does not gleam and sparkle, but everything is being cleansed." --Martin Luther

Sounds like an abusive relationship to me.
God gives us choices. Yea, life happens. Sometimes it's the enemy's attack, sometimes it's natural consequenses for ill made choices, and sometimes it's just life on a broken planet... BUT GOD, who loves us passionately and intently, works everything out for the GOOD of those who love Him. Please don't mistake bad things that happen to you as God's doing just because it draws you closer to Him.
Jesus asked for Heaven to come to earth. He proclaimed that the Kingdom is Here, on earth wherever He is. Heaven has no sickness, no tears, no broken hips and no outward forces of control. We choose to love Him. We choose to Believe. We choose to follow. We choose to proclaim. We have no record of Jesus ever breaking someone's hip and telling them - "There. You love me more don't you. Now I've got you right where I want you... dependant on me".
Jesus only did what He saw His Father doing and saying... And it was Good.
Now the Holy Spirit is in us, His people. He proclaimed the day of the Lord, the freeing of the oppressed, the releasing of the captives - THE KINGDOM IS HERE! Its what we are here for!
Father, let your Kingdom Come and Your Will be Done on earth as it is in Heaven... Through us - your children!
